At The Well- Getting To Know You

Today's theme At the Well is- Getting to Know You- the goal for this post is to share with other ladies about yourself so that we can know more about one another.

  • I am a stay-at-home mom and I homeschool my four children. I have been married for 15 years to my high school sweetheart and he is still the love of my life.
  • I love learning knew things.  So teaching my children suits me just fine!
  • I enjoy crafting. I especially like to crochet and create things for babies and small children. I often have ideas for projects I'd like to try, floating through my head, but not enough time to accomplish them all!
  • If I have some free time there is probably a book in my hand.  Usually at night, after the kids are asleep, I read a few chapters snuggled up under the covers.
  • I love to cook! Especially this time of year.  I love to whip up a warm, satisfying meal for my family.
  • I play the piano.  Not well enough to play for a crowd, but I can play good enough for my own enjoyment and to teach my children.
  • I love learning about nature and so do my children.  You can often find us outside exploring, finding new bugs, planting new flowers, working in the garden, catching frogs and feeding the birds.  I like feeding the birds so much that I grow my own mealworms to feed to the bluebirds!  I know kinda crazy!  But, it saves me a bunch of money and the bluebirds love them!
  • I'm camera crazy! I take bunches of pictures of my children and nature. I can't help myself!  I love beauty!

  • I am tenderhearted.  It tears me up to see people hurting and in need.  I can get really emotional about it.
  • I am shy and a home body. So, blogging gives me an outlet without the pressure of someone looking at me when I am speaking!  Or me second guessing everything I said the minute the conversation is over.  Oh boy, I can really stress about that!
  • I desire to live my life for the Lord. My prayer is that my children and others will see God in me.

  1. What a beautiful person you are! Thank you for sharing, and I'm so glad to know you a bit better.

  2. Hello sister!

    So nice to meet you!

I'm a homebody and very shy as well, and blogging is a GREAT way for me to be obedient to our Lord w/o the fear of being "looked" at while I'm talking. :-)

I love the outdoors as well (especially gardening) but I don't like to take pictures at all, either taking them or being in them. I think it's b/c I'm Asian, and well, I've probably had overload on the whole camera thing! HA!

    Great to meet ya sis!

    Bless you dearly,

  3. Oh, how precious you are! It's so nice to get to know you! I loved reading about you. While I'm a little less than shy, I'm a homebody, too!

  4. HELLO THERE! It's so nice to meet you! My first visit here and what a heart you share!! I'm going to have to check out the Etsy shop too...(Big Etsy fan!)

One of the reasons I love homeschooling is it's like my own second education...

Thanks for the glimpse into your life!!

  5. Nice meeting you. I am thrilled you have blogging as an opportunity
    to meet others.

  6. Thank you for sharing today. It was wonderful getting to know you better. Your sweet disposition shines through along with your love for Christ and your family. I loved reading about your reason for blogging and can relate to it being an outlet you are comfortable with. Same here! Blessings to you.

  7. Hello! I have enjoyed getting to know you! I am a homeschooler too. I am not shy, but I do tend to second-guess what I've said in conversations sometimes, or in teaching my women's class. Wish we had a delete button! I just ask God to put His hand over my mouth!

  8. What a wonderful post to let us get to know you. I am glad that you joined us this week over AT THE WELL. You have a beautiful family and what a blessing that you are able to be with them. God bless, Laurie

  9. Sounds like we have a lot in common. I'm shy and this blogging has been great for me being a SAHM as well. I could take pictures all day long, and I cry and really feel others sorrow.
    Love the pic btw.

  10. Thanks for introducing yourself! I also love photography, and I think your photo of daisies was lovely.

  11. It's so nice to have an additional glimpse into who you are! We share many traits, but it's the whole blogger thing that has brought us together:) It's also nice to know that I am not the last of the bleeding hearts....I worry about everyone, all the time! Why does it have to be so hard???

    Great post!

  12. Hi there! Just visiting via At the Well! You have a beautiful family and an adorable blog! It was nice visiting and getting to know you..

  13. I think I love blogging partly because I am shy, also. I am fine with close friends and family, but with everyone else I think I am a social misfit. It's much easier to write than talk! :o)

  14. Sorry to hear about your strange comments. Makes ya feel a bit uneasy doesn't it? Good luck.

  15. So glad to get to know you. Although I'm a few years older than you, I see so much of myself in you. I, too, am a major homebody and until I hit my 40's was pretty self-concious about other people looking at me when I talked, and especially second-guessing what I said later. I remember in grade school, if the teacher scolded me, I'd tear up. Seems silly now but was so stressful for me. I think that's why I love children so much. They are so trusting, loving and forgiving. Really enjoyed your post.

  16. Wow! We're a lot alike--except I'm challenged in the cooking arena. Thank you so much for sharing your heart!

  17. Thanks for sharing and letting us all get to know you a little better. I love your blog btw and have a little award for you. Just come over to my blog and claim it.

  18. It is so very nice to "meet" you. You have a lovely blog--that header is gorgeous, and you seem like a really sweet person. Thanks for sharing.

  19. Jenn, that part about being shy and a Homebody? Oh, you just described me to a T! That is exactly why I love pressure, no wondering what the other person thought of the way I talked or looked. Of course that is all stuff I need to get over anyway, but this blogging thing is awesome. :)

  20. Just what I love about you! I sure appreciate your heart!

Thank you for visiting my blog! I love to read your comments so take a few minutes and jot me a line or two!
