MMMM! One of my favorite summer-time drinks. I found a recipe for Brazilian Lemonade last year. It called for using whole limes that you processed in a blender. I found the drink to be a bit to bitter for my liking so I altered it to this...
Juice of 2 lemons and 5 limes
1/4-1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milk
1 cup sugar
6-8 cups water
Combine all ingredients and serve over ice.
Enjoy!
Wow.. and this isn't too sweet?? Just the right combination, huh??
ReplyDeleteI do remember the Brazilian lemonade last year. It was yummy!
I saw the blackberries and I got excited!! :)
Amy,
ReplyDeleteIt does sound like it would be super sweet, but I don't think it is! :) I only use 1/4c of the condensed milk. I think it tastes a lot like the Brazilian lemonade, but without the bitterness of the peel. I'm pretty sure it is something that people could play around with to meet there sweetness needs!
You had me until you said milk. Does adding the sweetened condensed milk make is sweet and not milky? I guess I don't use it enough to know really. This reminds me on the recipes for sangria I've been trying, they all end with adjust to your liking! :)
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to stop by and say hi! Hope you're having a great day! This drink sounds really refreshing. I bet my hubby would really like it!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Karen
Yum!!!
ReplyDeleteI want to come and drink it with you on your porch!
ReplyDeleteLove the pic! It looks so yummy! I think you made this last summer one time when I was home. Yum!
ReplyDeleteMilk in a lemonade?! Gasp... that sounds absolutely yummy! I wonder if evaporated milk is the same as condensed milk?
ReplyDeleteBrazilian lemonade is one of our absolute faves. I agree, though, it can be a tad bitter, especially if it sits around awhile and we don't drink it all right away. But your altered recipe sounds fantastic.
