Thick Enough….

It is a warm one hear today.  It’s not even 10:00am and the humidity is bearing down on us.  It’s harder to breathe and I think I could almost slice it up with a knife it feels so thick!

We are standing strong here and refusing to turn on the air.  Goodness its only the beginning of June and if the air conditioning is turned on it elevates our electric bill to nose bleed heights!

Therefore, we say NO!

However, a little voice inside me keeps peeping, Yes!

Yes it would be lovely not to be sweating while typing this post.  Yes it would be wonderful to be able to take a deep breath.  Yes it would be great to be able to cook a meal or wash the dishes without feeling like I’m going to melt into a puddle. Yes it would be so nice to not feel sticky and hot and sticky.

No, No, No, I say!  We will not turn on the air.  And anyway…the boss man said not yet.  And if I close up the windows I can’t hear the sweet melodies of the birds.  And if I close up the windows I can’t smell summer even if it is humid and thick.  And I grew up without air conditioning, I can do this, I will not weaken. So see I’m standing strong.  I can talk myself right into this and my knees are only slightly weak from the intense heat!

And this my friends is my genius piece on summer humidity and air conditioning.

Your Welcome!

And because I can’t post without a picture, it’s sorta like an illness with me, how about this one….

sweet pea-w

Now I’m off to bake some bread before I swelter clear outta my MIND! :)  Yeah, I’m a glutton for punishment!

  1. You're a stronger woman than I am! : ) Our air has been going full-force for a few days now.

  2. I/we're feeling the same way around here...except my boss man says turn the AC on for the bedrooms upstairs. He can't do it...like I did, growing up. We'd lay there at night - sweltering - with cold, wet washclothes and praying for a breeze to blow over us.

These days, my kitchen ceiling fan is plenty and there is a nice cross breeze blowing through.

Although. I, too, plan to bake up some bananna bread. That'll change the temp in here- I'm afraid.

Hang in there, my friend. You can do it.

  3. Oh mercy.

    I'm FEEEEELIN' your pain((((((((((((

    long sigh
And it's a good thing I have this pregnancy thing going for me right now, because otherwise my man wouldn't have our air on either:-)

you are a strong woman! You can do this!!!!

And I suppose that we are suffering with the same post a photo illness together.

What sort of remedy is there for it?

  4. ooh! Sorry about the A/C. We did not last. I open up the windows in the morning so i can wake up with the birds singing, but they are closed up by noon or before. Kudos to you!

  5. Your photography is gorgeous! Truly!

Our AC was broken for one day. One. My husband just can't handle the heat and humidity. And, since he pays the bills, he calls the shots with the AC (thank you Lord!).

    Think cool thoughts.

  6. Yep! We had to turn on the air yesterday! It's a hot one here too! Love the photo Jenn! Try and stay cool friend :)

  7. Visiting and enjoying your blog! We just turned our central air on yesterday since it was in the 90's so I thought it was a good time. It's suppose to be 90-ish again today-whew! Have a great summer, visit if you wish!! Blessings to you- Amy

  8. Wow, baking bread without the ac on...I'm impressed. I'd say forget the bread, let's eat ice cream :)

  9. It is 54 degrees here in E. OR and I'm afraid my tomatoes didn't make it through the night. We could use a little of that warmth here. Send some our way, LOL!
