I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses;
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear,
The Son of God discloses.
And He walks with me,
and He talks with me,
And He tell me I am is own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there.
None other has ever known.

I have been enjoying my garden so much this spring! The peonies have been gorgeous this year. I took lots and lots of photos of them, but I figured I should limit myself to sharing just three!
Last fall Joel and I put about 3 heaping loads (using the bucket loader on his tractor) of rabbit manure on my flower gardens. All I can say is~ WOW! I had read that rabbit manure is an awesome fertilizer and let me tell you my gardens are living proof. Most of my plants doubled or tripled in size.
I don't have any pictures of my vegetable garden yet. The weather here hasn't been great for growing produce. It has been very rainy and wet. I spent most of the week with a light sweater or sweatshirt on, very unusual for June. Because of all the rain, I ended up having to replant my lettuces and spinach. I have a few patches here and there of little spouts, but not even close to enough of what I will need. I hope the replanting does better.
When I am out working in my gardens, I feel such tranquility. The song above "In The Garden" is an old hymn and one of my favorites. God is definitely in the garden. Just look at the above photos! The intricacy and beauty is breath taking. Only God could create such magnificence!
In The Garden, was the first Christian song of any kind that was sang to me as a child. My aunt would let us all pick our own song to have her sing to us before bed when I stayed at my cousin's. I didn't know any songs like she sang, so I asked her to pick one for me and that was what she chose. It is still one of my favorites today...only now I sing it!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your peonies. I've never been able to pick a favorite flower, but the peony is deffinately tied for first place with a few others. I could have looked at a hundred pictures of them.
We may not be twins, but we sure are a lot alike!!!!
Oh you are so right...He is in the garden. I feel Him quite close when I am out among the flowers.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, your "look" is lovely ;)

that is one my favorite songs, thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI found you on CWO blogroll looking to see who's doing what this morning.
ReplyDeleteMan, my tomatoe plants are STILL in the little cartons. I really need to get out there.
I hadn't heard that about the rabbit manure. I already bought the bagged stuff, but maybe next year. Where we get our chicks from is a place called RabbitTrax farm so they probably have it.
Thanks for the tip!
hi Jenn, love your flowers-ummm. can just smell them in your garden with you. how's your little shed coming along? what did you decide to do with it? Love the song too!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics! Peonies are my favorites!

Those were the flowers that we had in our wedding. I love them. Dwight just bought me some this weekend, aaahh.
ReplyDeleteAlthough we do not have a garden, we have created a little haven in the backyard. It is so nice to go back there when you get tired of staring at the asphalt! I always see God's hand out there. Thank you for sharing your pics.
I think that we need to get hold of some rabbit manure!
I love your peonies! Our's didn't do very well this year becasue it was hot and dry when they bloomed. Then after the heat did them in we started to get the rain they would have needed. But yours are lovely! Don't you love how the ants are always all over the buds?? My little girl doesn't care for the ants but she loves the flowers :O)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a quiet peaceful day!
