I love simplicity. Living in the country does that for me. I like to walk out my door and breathe in the deep, filling my lungs with crisp, clean air. I enjoy taking leisurely walks on the road in front of my home, as my children race ahead on their bicycles.
I treasure being able to have my windows open at night and hearing the tree frogs singing, the hoot owls hooting, and the crickets serenading me to sleep.
I accept with gratitude the blessing of being able to walk out my door and pick quart upon quart of wild black raspberries that grow along the edges of the grass field.
I enjoy hanging up the laundry on a warm summer day, taking it down when its dry, burying my nose in the warm, sun dried fabric, and inhaling the fresh, crisp scent of summer.
To me country living is simplicity.
((Breathes deeply)) I love your blog, it magically places me in the outdoors and it's a nice break from the big old city of Sacramento! Keep sharing the pictures, I adore them!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on that! Simplicity brings such peace. We appreciate so much more being sensitive to Gods beautiful creation around us in the country. I can't imagine having to live in a city! Thanks for the lovely pictures!
ReplyDeleteAmen!!! I would never want to live anywhere else than in the beautiful country. Have a simply blessed evening.
ReplyDeleteI wish those frogs and crickets would hush so I could get some sleep! :D, but seriously, I much prefer their noise to city noise!
ReplyDeleteMe too~
ReplyDeleteWe are blessed!

ReplyDeleteBut that frog???--- I am shaking my head on that one!
Have a great weekend, friend! :)
I agree with you sista! Oh, how I miss the country! I think I've finally adapted to a life lived in the suburbs. I feel like God has really blessed us with our little plot of land here in the city :)
ReplyDeleteOh, it sounds lovely! I grew up in the country as a child, but now I live in the suburbs. My sister-in-law lives a quieter life, and I always love visiting her... Great pictures - both in your photos and your words...
ReplyDeleteDitto the other comments...what a beautiful, innocent, simple life you've reminded us of. Great to be back to your "country" living!
ReplyDeleteAnd this is why I MISS living in the country! I can't even tell you! I told my hubby the other day that we should just pack up and move somewhere like this. He agreed - if only it were possible! Maybe I should just come visit you. :)
ReplyDeleteMe too!!! I haven't hung laundry out in a long time. . .I think that is on order for tomorrow, I too bury my nose in it as it is coming off the line. This post was a breath of fresh country air, thanks
ReplyDeleteWe definitely miss that.
ReplyDeleteThat is a whole lot of clothes that you have on God's dryer!
Blessings to you, while you enjoy this world of your own!

I just stumbled on your blog through "at the well"... I LOVE the simplicity of the country too... roosters crowing, soft breezes blowing, farm animals and fields of crops... ahh the fresh air and quietness of the country! :)
