“I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the LORD, let the humble hear and be glad.” Psalm 34:1-2
We were all snuggled up on our respective chairs and couches. Blankets were pulled up to chins. Voices were raised in chorus.
We repeated the verses on the antique chalkboard. Memorizing God’s words. Consuming them. Feeding on them. Learning to live by them.
After the reference was spoken. I looked up and asked, “What does it mean, ‘My soul makes its boast in the Lord?’”
My middle son piped up and said, “It’s like braggin’ on the Lord.”
I loved it!
Yes, Lord help us to brag on you daily!
Help us to focus on who you truly are. Enlighten us with your strength, power, love, mercy, grace and peace. Help us to keep our eyes on you and fill our mouths with praise.
May every one we come in contact with hear how awesome You are.
Open our mouths so that not a single person will be deprived of hearing us brag all about You and the wonderful blessing You give.
Yep, watch out world….
we’re braggin’ on Jesus!
