I Just Can’t Stay Indoors

It’s gorgeous here.

Unseasonably so.

Daffodils are blooming. Highly unheard of around here.

My Irises and Lilies are well above the ground.

The leaves on my Lilac are opening.

The Pussy Willows are all fuzzy and in the past couple of days have become chartreuse in color. When I look out the back windows of my house. The swamp is alive with fuzzy spring color.

It is so beautiful here, with temps near 80 degrees, we are outside hours upon hours.

There has been frog catching.

Steam exploring.

Laundry hanging.

Blueberry and Strawberry gardening.

Seed and sprout tending.

And evenings spent playing “Barnyard Basketball”.  A game Mr. Hollywood made up…an anything goes sort of basketball game!

AHHHH!  Spring.

We’re sorta holding onto our hats, though.

We may pay dearly for all this warm weather so early.  I’m praying no hard frosts or freezes come our way.

One last photo (or two), because I love how these crab apples are still holding on! What tenacity!  A great reminder for me on the days when I feel like giving up and tossing in the filthy, well-used towel. Hang on. Hold tight. Fresh, new days are coming.

  1. It's beautiful here too! I was out all day mowing and weeding and cleaning. No frog catching though:) LOVE this time of year. I'm ready for fresh new days!

  2. Crazy, isn't it?? I too pray for no freezes, thinking of all the farmers/orchards.

thank you for beautiful pictures and sharing the beauty you are seeing. Helps some of the rest of us who spent the day having a pity party. ;-) those are the worst kind of parties, aren't they?

    You are a blessing!!

  3. Staying outdoor can always be rewarded.

Your have a series of beautiful pictures.

  4. Oh yes!
    Us too!
    Windows open....
We planted potatoes this weekend and I cut the first asparagus!
Planted some more fruit trees, too.
    So, so happy!

  5. Wonderful photos! Just found your lovely blog, and I'm a new follower ~ so nice to meet you!
    Anne ♥♥

  6. Where you live looks so beautiful! And I can't get enough of the frogs! :)

  7. It has been so enjoyable to throw open the windows and breath in spring air! Even weeding my flower beds has been a pleasure :)

  8. I'm so glad it's been so warm for you! It has for us, too. Lexie's spring break couldn't have fallen at a better time. We've been outside anytime we can tear ourselves away from the baby chicks in our bathroom. :o)

  9. I've been like a kid that's been cooped up too long and played outside in my flower gardens all last week.

I'm neglectin' my blog but I've got tan lines on my arms and dirt under my nails....woohoo!!!

Your pictures are amazin'...again, I'm frog smitten.

God bless and enjoy this first day of spring!!! :o)

  10. I *loved* this peek into your life my is beautiful (even the frog ~ LOL)! :)
