Little Miss’ ballet recital was on Saturday.  Oh, what smiles I saw that day! She was in her element.  She never said anything about being nervous. She never even looked nervous.  She knew her dance routine backward and forward.  I’m pretty sure she couldn’t wait to get out on that stage and twirl! I’m thinking she gets her boldness from her daddy!

What sweetness to see her all dressed up and bubbling with so much anticipation.  She definitely looked like a little princess, in her polka dotted tutu.  And then you throw in all those sparkly sequins and what little girl wouldn’t be delighted?

This girl is serious about her dancing. In class she is super attentive and ready to try anything that her teacher asks of her.  You can see by the look in her eyes that she loves to dance.  She is already looking forward to next year.   I’m pretty sure we are in ballet for the long haul!

During the recital there was no flash photography allowed.  So I bumped up my ISO to 500 and was shooting at around 20s (hand held).  With all the moving going up on stage it was a bit difficult to get any good shots, but I just kept clicking away and I was happy to get a few good ones! So happy I attempted it even though I didn’t think I would be able to capture too much.

  1. Lovely shots. I especially like them in black and white, gives them such a classic look. Good for her for being so brave - I have a 7 year old who loves ballet but is not nearly so keen on the stage part!

  7. She is precious! I would SO love as Brynn would too, to get her into dance class. But here, at the recitals, ALL the little ones wear LOADS AND LOADS of make-up :( I am REALLY not happy with that. I noticed in your photos they are not wearing make up!? right?
I am resorting to gymnastics I think with Brynn in the fall.

    p.s.
I think you did wonderful on the photos!

    1. I did see a few mom's putting make-up on some of the little girls, but nothing too over the top. But, none of the girls in Lauren's class wore make-up. Loved that!

  8. Wonderful. She does look like she is in it for the long haul. That's great. My youngest granddaughter was at that stage a few years ago and still gets great enjoyment from it.

  13. How beautiful she is! She would make a stunning ballerina...I hope she sticks with it! She certainly has the drive for it, huh? :o)

Your pictures still turned out great! I'm sure there were 10 blurry ones for every good one, but those few great shots are worth it!
