Review- DVD Bible
The Read and Share DVD Bible from Thomas Nelson Publishing consists of thirteen bible stories from scripture. The stories come from the Read and Share Bible by Gwen Ellis. This DVD is ideal for toddlers and pre-schoolers. Each story is 3-minutes in length, which is ideal for the short attention spans of younger children.
My own children 10, 7, and 2 watched this video. My 10 year old watched the whole thing and declared them good to okay. My 7 year old said he liked them and my two year old lasted about 2 minutes. I wasn't suprised that she didn't last very long. She has never been a big fan of T.V.!
My opinion of this DVD is that it was okay. It isn't my favorite, nor is it the worst I have ever seen, just somewhere in the middle. Most of the DVD consist of narration with the cartoon figures acting out the narration. The animation is simple but colorful. What I did like about the DVD is that each story was simple and easy to understand, perfect for little minds. If you are looking for simplified Bible stories for your little one, then this might just work for you.

Thanks for the review! You just never know what is a good product what is just "fair". There are a lot of great concepts out there... it's just finding which ones present the whole package the best. Loving and praying for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for mentioning this movie, too many "children shows" are very worldly and I'm just trying to find the ones with a good (Christian) perspective <3
ReplyDeleteIf it's a cartoon or animation, my son's eyes are glued to it ;)
Pebbles is a BIG fan of the TV. She runs, jumps and dances around it all day long. I am very interested in finding her more Christian videos.
ReplyDeleteWhat are some of you favorite ones? You can email me your thoughts on it. Thanks for sharing this one.
We have it, LOVE it, and all three of my boys (8,6,almost 3) love it-we keep it in the car and it is the one video I hope they remember all the words and all the songs!
ReplyDeleteOh cute!! I haven't seen this one before! I'll check if Netflix has it. I rent, Bible Heroes on DVD and my son is GLUED to it when it comes on! It's awesome! Also, check out the dollar tree store for some Bible worship songs for children with lyrics on the screen! We play those every Sunday!
