Three weeks and two days ago, (exactly one day before my back went ka-plooey) I planted some tomato, pepper, dill, cabbage and a few petunias in some starter cups. I use small plastic drinking cups, about the 2 oz size, that I poke holes in with a push pin. Then I place them in plastic shoe boxes in a window that has a southern exposure. I love seeing my plants growing and knowing that in another month or more I will be placing them into my garden. MMMM- I can't wait to begin reaping the benefit of home grown goodness.
Oh what fun!!! I use to love to garden. I think this year I am going to plant tomatoes. What are you planting?
ReplyDeleteoh cool! what all are you planning on planting???
ReplyDeleteWe had wonderful peppers and tomatoes last year, but I don't think my husband is doing it this year. I hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThis year we will be planting: radishes, 3 types of lettuce, spinach, turnips, onions, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, green beans, watermelon, pumpkins, snap peas and dill. I'm sure I left something out but these are the basics that I plant each year.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait for a big juicy homegrown tomato - it just puts the stuff at the store to shame. It is a miracle to see these plants grow - take a pic of your garden when you get it in so we can see!
ReplyDeleteMy oh my, how fun! I wish I had a green thumb but I am struggling to keep my cactus alive :o) don't forget to take pictures of the end result ;)
ReplyDeletewoo-hoo! It is so fun watching things grow, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteWell, I was all ready to comment and then saw the questions and your answer about what you're planting! HOLY COW, that's lots of stuff! I'm impressed. I want to do this so badly. We have NO sun in our yard (and I have no green thumb), but I really want to do this one day. You're inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling OK, been thinking of you. Peace to you,
Heather
I wish you were here to teach me! Would you believe a country bumpkin like me has never had a garden?!
ReplyDeleteHow are you feeling? Better I hope.
Mmmmm... There is nothing better on Earth than a homegrown tomato.
ReplyDeleteThat is so fun. I'm hoping we have a garden this year. It's kind of scary when you haven't done it before. :)
ReplyDeleteHere's to hoping for good greens this summer!
